About Therapy With Kelly

From the first time we meet, you will be seen as a whole person, with a history and a perspective and a life that matters. Your experience belongs in the room, and so do you.

I work with children, teens, adults, and families.

Sometimes that means helping a child feel safe in their own body again. Sometimes it means sitting beside an adult who has carried something heavy for years.

The age changes. The care stays the same.

Loosen the Grip of Old Pain

Much of my work centers on trauma. When something painful from the past keeps reaching into your present, it can feel like the hardest moment never fully ended.

I’m certified in EMDR, a therapy that helps your mind and body process old experiences so they loosen their hold. As that happens, the past takes up less room, and you start to feel more like yourself again.

What Your Time With Me Looks Like

In a session, we might talk, learn, process, calm your nervous system, and yes, laugh. Real life is hard, and a good deal of it is also genuinely ridiculous, and there is room for both here.

My hope for our work is honest and steady: facing the hard, laughing at the ridiculous, seeing the truth, and finding a new or different way forward.

Therapy That Fits Your Real Life

Ideally, we would meet every week at first, then space sessions out as things begin to settle.

I’m also a realist, and I know that life happens. We will meet as best we can, and we will make it work.

More than anything, I want you to leave understanding how innately important and valued you already are, and to find real hope in what your future can hold.

About Kelly Wood, LCSW

I have been a therapist for about fourteen years, and I still love this work.

My experiences, both personal and professional, shape how I show up with you. They are part of what lets me understand your perspective and ground the relationship we build together.

As a licensed clinical social worker and a certified EMDR therapist, I work with children, teens, adults, and families at Willow Tree Mental Health in Exton, Pennsylvania. Trauma recovery sits at the heart of what I do.

Outside the office

When I’m not working, you’ll find me reading, thrifting, antiquing, traveling, or taking a very good nap. I raised three adult children, and I have learned to find joy and appreciation in every stage of their lives. I love New York City and the ocean, and I will happily binge Law & Order: SVU when the chance comes along.

I love what I do, and I would love to meet you.
